TST Inc. (Chino, CA) has agreed to establish a new joint venture company in Mexico who will produce and sell aluminum alloy. With a shareholder ratio of: TST 55% and partner Nikkei MC Aluminium Co. LTD. (NMA) 45%, the two will build T.S.T. Nikkei Metales S. de R.L. de C.V. on 30,000 sq meters in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Production capacity of the new facility is expected to be 30,000 metric tons a year and will commence commercial production in April 2014.

TST, CEO Andrew Stein, said “already having a major presence in the rapidly growing Mexican automobile industry TST will be better able to serve its existing customers and expand it customer base with the new venture.” Stein also noted that NMA will be able to enter into the Mexican Market and find opportunities to expand their future business. Together the organizations will have more opportunity to develop new Japanese customers in and around North and South America.

TST currently operates an aluminum ingot plant TIMCO and aluminum billet plant, Tandem Industries in Fontana, CA, non-ferrous scrap yard, Standard Metals Recycling in Long Beach, CA, aluminum ingot and sow plant, Texas TST Inc., in Sweetwater, TX and aluminum plate manufacturer, Alpase in Chino, CA.

Nikkei MC Aluminium Co., Ltd is the subsidiary of Nippon Light Metal Co., Ltd. (Nippon Light Metals 55%, Mitsubishi Corporation 45%).
